Summer ART Camp Assistants and Art Instructors Wanted

Do you enjoy working with children and teaching them new ways to explore art and the world around them? We are looking for positive and enthusiastic Summer Art Camp Assistants and Instructors who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and leading children through indoor art lessons and outdoor snack time summertime activities. A typical day for Summer Art Camp Assistant/Instructor could include:
*Participating in a friendly, game-inclusive snack time
*Creating unique art masterpieces
*Educating kids about various artists and artistic styles
*Interacting with parents, summer camp attendees, and co-workers to build lasting relationships

This job will provide experience working with kids of various ages as well as experience running an art studio and working with a variety of medias. This is great preparation for a career in teaching studio or classroom art at many levels.

Assistants will mainly work under the supervision of a professional artist, craftsperson, or experienced art teacher, who will guide you through a variety of materials and help you develop successful management skills and working relationships in your position.

Job Description
As a Summer Camp Assistant/Instructor, you will play an important role in providing fun, engaging, educational art lessons in a safe environment for our campers to learn and thrive. You will lead children between 4 and 9 years of age during weekly themed camps and guide campers to scheduled program areas in an orderly and timely fashion.

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Keep campers active and engaged in art lessons and challenging activities while maintaining a safe, encouraging environment
*Follow and execute activities per pre-designed daily lesson plans and schedule
*Lead a group of up to 14 campers ages 4-9 with a fun, positive and outgoing attitude
*Interact with children, parents/guardians and co-workers in a professional manner at all times
*Understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for art camps
*Immediately report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or abuse relating to youth

*Must have High School Diploma or GED; or must be actively working towards a High School diploma
*One year working in a camp environment or coaching/teaching children preferred but not mandatory
*Teaching Licenses / Certifications / Registrations preferred but not mandatory for instructors
*Must be able to attend summer art staff training
*Be available to work late May to early August; (Off week of July 1-5) Pre/ Post camp dates are included. Hours have some flexibility

Pay: Instructors $14 an hour, Assistants $9 an hour
