Registration fees are 100% refundable when the department cancels the activity. A participant wishing to withdraw from a class that has not been cancelled by the department must provide a request at least seven days before the scheduled start of the class. They may receive 100% credit to the family’s account or may request a refund. Within the week prior to the scheduled start of a class refund/credits will not be given except for verified medical/hardship cases. Refunds for payment made by cash or check will be received approximately 2-4 weeks after the refund is requested.  Senior Services Special Events and Trips are non-refundable.

MAKE YOUR MARK ART CAMP 2017

Calling all creative, innovative and imaginative youth!!!

WANTED: Art Students wanted to fill positions as creative, innovative and imagination engineers. Campers need to bring their fun loving energy to explore the world of art this summer.

WHY?: Because it’s fun to make art with new and old friends and share on Fridays what we learned each week.

PAY: Students will be paid with great art projects, intelligent teachers to navigate lessons, and lasting creative experiences from a variety of unique art mediums.

Make Your Mark Art Camp will be packed with exciting and accessible art projects, step-by-step instruction and plenty of art making opportunities with their camp mates. Art lessons will cover a variety of art methods including but not limited to: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Mixed Media and much more.

Students ages 4-5 will be engaged in two different art classes while 6-9 year olds will rotate between two visual arts classes and an inclusive theatre performance class that covers stage presence, acting exercises, and storytelling which is available five of the six weeks of camp. All ages will have a snack time built into their day. Campers ages 7-9 can also sign up for our AM or PM elementary clay camp and ages 9-12 can join us in our afternoon session called “Dig A Little Deeper”. For students that are registered for both a morning and an afternoon camp, we offer a supervised lunch period (lunch not provided). Classes fill quickly, so register early!

Students can only register for one of the elementary camps and must be 4 years old by March 15th. 1 week.

HYDE & SEEK ARTventure Camp 2016 @ Hyde Farm*** (age 7-12)
Looking for a camp that allows your 7-12 year old find their hidden creative side while seeking their wild side? In this truly one of a kind outdoor art camp we will explore the historic Hyde Farm property, hike to the Chattahoochee River, take a nature walk and use all of this exciting outdoor time to create awesome works of art inspired by nature.

This farm has 45 acres of historic property with lakes, hiking trails, and a home that we will be using for the art studios. This summer we will once again enjoy the magic of the farm, while studying the animals that live there, hike the property, experience printmaking, and learn to draw and paint the nature surrounding you. Art and possibly theatre projects are in the planning stage. Plans will vary with instructors that are part of the day. Your outdoor artist will not want to miss this ARTventure at Hyde Farm! 1 wk. Space limited to 30 students, register early!

MVAA Cabaret Teen Performance Camp 2017 (age 13-19)
The MVAA Cabaret Camp is an intensive workshop in the Performing Arts. This year’s show will be “The Wedding Singer”*! This camp is by audition only. Auditions will be held on Monday, May 15th 6:30-8:30pm.  2 weeks. Registration for this camp happens at www.theartplace.us thru Ticket Leap or in person after auditions and casting has been completed. Visa & MC are accepted. Directed by Allison McDowell.

For those going through pottery withdrawal we are here to save you! You must be enrolled in an adult FALL 2017 POTTERY CLASS before you can register for the Summer studio times. The registration fee includes 20 visits to the studio. You can purchase up to two bags of clay or use what you have left from spring. There is NO promise of fired work due to the heavy summer camp demands.
